I fully endorse and support the sentiments relayed by Rajdeep regarding the victory of Narendra Modi in Gujrat.
However, one thing that springs to mind is the lack of information of the atrocities committed by his followers on his orders against the Muslims of Gujrat.
First of all, the Godhra fire wasnt necessarily as a result of arson/murder and needless to say if forensics could prove it was an accident, it would be kept quiet. How else would this leader be able to justify winning so many votes and using this unfortunate incident as a means to an end. If the Godhra atrocity was as a result of Muslim actions then those few Muslims need to be punished under the law of the country, not the innocent women who were gang raped by local hoodlums who thought they were proving their mardangi, or taking it out on countless men who were soaked in gasoline and then burnt.
Or maybe those children were involved who had to stand by their mothers and watch them being raped and mutilated and then face being tortured and killed themselves, why because they followed the same religion as the few who killed those innocents returning from a religious journey.
Time and time again women are trying to bring those responsible to justice, but how can justice be done when the police who are there for the protection of the state were involved themselves. People were running to the Police stations and begging for their lives only to be taken to the waiting mobs by the Police.
How can local supporters of the incidents say these women are lying, everyone knows how difficult it is for a woman to admit something like this has happened to her but then lie about it??
I appeal to the government of The United Kingdom and the United States to investigate this horror and bring to justice those involved and their ringleaders just like the trials at Nuremberg.
No-one should be punished for their religious beliefs, Hindu, Muslim, Jew or any religion and certainly no religion condones inflicting such wounds to members of another faith.
