The words are empty vessels unless they are used as valuable information. This is a difficult task to achieve but authors like Jasper Vikas seem to have acquired an expertise in this art. I had the privilege of going through his highly intellectual and enriching articles and I think works like these not only deserve a platform like IMC but equally wide circulation and use. Though the entire work is a fabulous work I appreciated the following aspects very much:

(1) By talking about the rehabilitation of the victims the author has successfully bridged the unabridged gaps in the Criminal Legal System of India. It must be appreciated that too much emphasis on offenders’ protection without a parallel protection of victims may prove counterproductive.

(2) The learned soother has successfully laid down the base for the “Jurisprudence of Victimology” that requires a unanimous acceptance for the common betterment of all.

(3) The author has struck at the head of the nail and has gifted the tool of “Restorative justice” for the betterment of victims in India.

(4) By providing a “comparative analysis” the author has provided an opportunity to “harmonise” the Indian laws as per the well-accepted International standards.

(5) The best part of the article, if at all I am capable of deducing the same, seems to be that part that is placing the various provisions dealing with victim emancipation at one place. The work seems to me a piece of very fine mini-legislation that can be used by the judicial system of India.

(6) I personally feel that a comprehensive legal base, dealing with victimology, is the need of hour. Till then the benefits of the “precious research work” of the learned author, Mr Jasper Vikas, can be availed of by the Judiciary in India.

I congrats Mr Jasper Vikas for filling the empty vessel with such a valuable information.

Looking forward for more such valuable contributions.

ALL THE BEST.
