The start of such discussions even at the bilateral level between India and US, is a welcome step in the direction of making uniform international law relating to information and communication technology. The absence of uniform set of rules in any field not only hampers its natural and healthy growth but also gives open invitation to the law breakers to commit crimes. The increasing number of cyber crimes is closly related to the lack of uniform law on ICT.

Further, making of such law would be beneficial not only for the future of the US-India bilateral economic partnership, but also for over all growth of ICT sector as well.

Hope soon we will be able to see more growth in the level of consensus between various countries on need of uniform law on ICT.
