After last year, Hurricanes droughts floods heat and a record freeze no one would have missed the evidence that the world’s natural stability is already unbalanced.
Something that is obviously unacceptable for all of humanity to come to terms with, is that we caused it.
We have shown there is no alternative but to develop consumerism as the only model of economic development worth pursuing.
Nature holds the assets which have always supplied consumerism; oil +gas are now in short supply leaving coal as a cheap fuel source, however as each fossil supports industrialization all nations must now try harder to take their share..
These assets are destroyed in the process of developing industrialized economies, leaving entire population inevitably worse off than before as resources become more scarce with both economies and their environment in ruin.
Has India forgotten that the British once grew rich by exploiting India?, are we now to grow rich by exploiting weaker nations?
Is it not obvious that America has chosen to invade weaker countries so that it can maintain its dependence upon oil?
China like India must now secure oil coal and gas, as both join the developmental treadmill that the west has been on for the last 60 years since consumerism was developed. However instead of just western nations. now consumerism is to be encouraged as a global effort in order to banish poverty in the third world.
Coal is likely to be the greatest source of fuel for India and China, as it kick started economic success in Europe and America and is still in good supply worldwide.
So it’s a race to see either fuel run out or the consequence of inevitable environmental decay, or both and we can achieve it all in a life time.
Of corse nature will not be forgiving, but its not up to nature and its not nature at fault.
