Living in Britain, you become aware of the very curious way the BBc and other establishment outlets manage to put out so much 'disinformation' about India, by which I mean seeming constant reportage without ever really saying anything about what's actually happening. Its not a new phenomenon, of course, but its becoming more noticeable in recent times. Merchant-Ivory films of course,in fact quite a lot of narrow interpretations of 'cultural' items, that is to say culture devoid of any political elements.
