Optative Theatrical Laboratories
“Too FRINGE for the FRINGE!!!”
ATTENTION: PEOPLE WITH A STORY - Optative Theatrical Laboratories is planning a theatrical experiment & international collaboration: Car Stories is to be performed in and around the Montreal “Fringe” Festival, June 12th – 23rd, 2002.
“Hop in! Enjoy the sick pleasure of eavesdropping. Far more intimate than the drive-in, Optative Theatrical Laboratories puts you in the back seat to digest four stories. International collaboration set in real cars. Three voyeurs per show!”
· Anyone can submit a story (script, idea, or arrange to present a scene.)
· There are no limits to your imagination – play with style, genre, etc.
· All submissions must be open to workshopping and collaboration (to take place after April 20th.)
· Each story must be 12 – 15 minutes in length.
· The setting will be the front seats of a car, plus potentially the outside of it.
· Three spectators (voyeurs) will sit in the back of the car.
· Please specify the type of car (the car will be parked.)
· Interested players should contact us as well with a bio and the reasoning behind your interest in doing this theatrical experiment/collaboration. We need people to play actors, playwrights, directors, administrators, etc.
· Note that all participants will receive an equal share of the profit (beer money!)
