On Monday,
the PII said: ''Violence in Gujarat has dealt a body blow not only to
its direct victims, but also to the image of India as a composite and
pluralist society. ''
PII has appealed to Indians, ''to demonstrate to the people of
Gujarat and the workd that we care, that we stand behind them, and
that we will help to rebuild not only their homes and livelihoods.''
