. Condemn all forms of violence in the subcontinent, as this
achieves nothing except further suffering for the ordinary
citizens.
2. Declare that no form of violence or threat of violence shall be
used by either country as a means of settling political disputes
between the two countries.
3. Declare that each country would do all within its power to
prevent its citizens from intervening in the affairs of the other
country.
4. Condemn the arms race, especially nuclear arms race due to its
serious consequences for both countries and the world at large.
5. Initiate co-operation in the economic sphere to ensure that the
poor of both countries get their due share of the national and
regional cake.
6. Ensure that mutual trust and confidence between ordinary citizens
is built up, through permitting freedom of travel, etc.
