Like Nirad C Chaudhry, I am an unknown Indian. But unlike him, I am Muslim. I was born an Indian and a Muslim. I have never changed my nationality, nor did it ever cross my mind to do so. Indeed, I have carried my twin identities with ease, distinction, and if may I add, a little pride. Never have I felt any contradiction between the two. I always thought and felt that the former was inclusive of the other. Till now, that is.
