| Demand the Release of Human Rights Defender B.N. Jagdish

Jagdish, an activist working with the Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA), the Save the Narmada Movement, was picked up by police at a bus stop on Khedi Balwadie, Dhar district, in the state of Madya Pradesh. The NBA reported in a press release that B.N. Jagdish is being held in a Sardarpur jail under preventative detention and charges of vagrancy. Amnesty fears that he may be at risk of torture and ill-treatment.
