Recounting the life of Ambedkar from Columbia
University to the chawls of Mumbai, the film captures
his struggle against untouchability, caste system,
Gandhi and the British Govt. The film brings into
sharp focus the social injustice faced by the
community for centuries. Directed by Jabbar Patel, the
film stars among others Mammotty and Sonali Kulkarni.

The discussion following the film will focus on the
DALIT MOVEMENT IN INDIA TODAY with particular
reference to Karnataka along with trying to understand
the invisible forces which have prevented the film's
entry into theatres.
