Temple Attacks : A Sad Precedence
The attack on Raghunath Temple last week in Jammu is a grim reminder about the communal virus in store. Although the attempts so far to create terror inside the sacred places has failed to the desired results of the terrorist organisations, it has set the terror ball rolling. As soft targets and potential communal violence shooter, the temple attacks need to be handled very carefully and effcientally.
As usual, the political parties and the government in both the centre and state are busy in scoring political points rather than addressing the problem. In this confusion, communal organisations both majority and minority ones use this issue for the benefit and existence.
The challenges before the Indian state at this crisis hour are as follows.
1. The central government and the political parties need to low tune their rhetoric and start acting.
2. The intelligence agencies should be put in the high alert and the terrorist plans can be nibbed in the bud itself
3. The common people should be involved in thwarting the terrorist designs
4. In case of the sudden attacks, the concerned agencies and forces should be kept prepared.
Unlike these things are followed there will be more attacks which will flare up communal tension in the country.
