| | STOP FUNDING HATRED
IDRF is the funding arm of fascist RSS. To be anti-fascoist is not same as anti-Hindu. Those who claim this are idiots; think. To be anti-Nazi you didnt have to be anti-German. Many Germans were also anti-Nazi. Of course only people who say this means all anti-Nazis are anti-Germans, were the Nazis themselves. So those who claim anti-RSS is anti-Hindu must be just like those stupid Nazis. Defeat them!
RSS vomit on this forum--NO fear! truth HERE! EXPOSE THE CRIMINAL FUNDING! RSS is good ! Kick Sabrang SABRANG IS THE HATE MONGERING ORGANISATION ! AND BIJU IS ANTI HINDU BASTARD . READ AND CIRCULATE THE ATTACHED REPORT EXPOSING THIS BUNCH OF ANTI HINDU AND HATE MONGETING MORONS RSS interview with their leader HOUSTON, (TX), USA: Recently, I was granted an exclusive interview with the reigning President of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Shri Kuppahalli Seetharamiah Sudarshan during his recent visit to the USA. It was his first trip to Houston in his present capacity as leader of India's largest social service and religious organization in March 2000. Outspoken with diehard conviction in what he believes to be right and true, I found the gentle giant to be an honorable hardworking man - a patriotic son of Bharath. A multi-linguist who gave up a career in engineering to dedicate his life to the Hindu cause as a fulltime volunteer, Sudarshan was in the country meeting with volunteers of HSS and other Hindu organizations, and addressing their concerns. Despite a gruelling schedule, he set aside time to talk with me. These are some of his thoughts which he generously shared with me. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has a rather staid image, not by way of thought, but rather by way of the uniform clothes the cadres wear. Are there plans to modernize that? It all depends on one's perception of modernity. When Mahatma Gandhi went to meet the Queen of England, Winston Churchill told him that he needed to go properly dressed. Gandhi said:-'I represent millions of poor people of India and what I put on my body represents what the Indian people are wearing there. So if you want me to go, this is what I shall wear!' As far as uniforms go, we use them only for special purposes like when have our training classes or group march. When we do our daily shakha (indigenous games, prayers, yoga and exercise) we insist on wearing shorts because it is convenient for activities, so we have adapted accordingly. There are no other restrictions on garments. When Dr. Keshav Rao Baliram Hedgewar started RSS it was suggested to him that RSS workers should wear a uniform so they could be easily spotted. Dr. Hedgewar said he would rather an RSS worker be indentified by his character and by his work, which is more important. Today, in 30 000 places in Bharath, 43 000+ people gather for physical, patriotic and prayer programs. We do not work only among the elite, we go to villages and forests so we identify ourselves with the people of the country. 80%of the people are wearing these clothes - we do not want to appear different from the common man, we want them to identify with us. You are so widely travelled. Is there a sense of a Hindu renaissance among those living outside India? Also, are those living in India losing basic values as opposed those outside who tend to cling to their identity as Hindus? We are finding that those who live outside Bharath have become more awakened as far as identity is concerned. This was not there until a few yearsago. When RSS started, people used to say:- 'you can call us a donkey, but please do not call us Hindu!'. That was the inferiority complex that the Hindus inculcated because of the politics and British mechanizations. Hindus were run down everywhere, they were abused. An impression was created that a Hindu is a mild Hindu, you can beat him, you can insult him, he is not going to retaliate. After 75 years of working of the Sangh, a consciousness of our brilliant past as Hindus has risen. We realized that we could not protect our independence unless we consolidated, filled with patriotic feelings. The Vedas say: 'Walk in unison, talk in unison, let our minds think alike.'Even the devatas were victorious when they consolidated! In the middle, we had forgotten ourselves and therefore we had to remain subjugated for about 800 years - now we have to come up! So many of our leaders have put in their efforts, from Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Vivekananda, Ram Tirtha, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Ambedkar, Subhash ChandraBose, Rishi Aravinder - all have tried to awaken the spirit of the people, awaken the soul of the country. RSS tried to create a cadre which ultimately will take the message of those great leaders to the masses. Now Hindus say:- 'We are proud to be Hindus!'. Change has already come. On December 6, 1992, the demolition of the Babri Masjid was one of the top ten news of the world and contributed to Hindu consciousness rising. A Muslim can say, I am Muslim and want to Islamize the world, the Christian can say, I want to bring about the kingdom of Jesus throughout the world. When you ask a Hindu, 'why are you living?', his only answer previously was: -'because I could not die'! Now there is a vision in mind. Hindu youth outside Bharath want to know more about being Hindu. In our country the elite and especially those who had gone to convent school have lost their moorings because the main purpose there is to 'de-Hinduize' them. Not so with the general masses. We say Hinduism is not a religion - Hinduism encompasses so many religions, it's a commonwealth of religions because all sorts of worship are included. Right from the worship of the stone and the tree to the worship of the formless. We can worship any form we like, but ultimately, we are worshipping the same Almighty. Itwas believed Hindus could not be united. Within 15 years of the RSS, Dr.Hedgewar proved that it could be done. In year 2000, we had a National Awakening Program contacting 405 000 villages out of 635 000 villages, and everywhere there was appreciation of RSS. Despite the English press there being hostile to us, our work has been increasing. We shun publicity because the main task at hand gets deflected. Hindus have a mission in this life. And what is the mission of Hindus? The mainstay of the western world view can be the four principals on which life in the west is faced. Struggle for existence, survival of the fittest, exploitation of nature and individual rights. All socio-economic systems have evolved from this paradigm. The Hindu paradigm evolved from Hindu thought, does not share these principals. We do not believe in struggle for existence because we say 'Sarvam Kalavitham Brahma', meaning 'All is Brahma'. The whole creation is a manifestation of Brahma. There is perfect harmony everywhere if ignorance is removed. We are a manifestation of the same ultimate reality. We do not believe in the survival of the fittest. Secondly, we say 'Sarve Bhavanthu Sukhinah' - meaning, let everyone be happy. It is the duty of the strong to see that the weak also are able to live. We do not believe in exploitation of nature. Nature has enough to meet our needs, but not our greed. We have to think of nature as Mother. Man has exploited nature, now nature finds it difficult to replenish itself. For example, in America the consumption of paper per man, per year, is 700 pounds, whereas consumption in India is only 5 pounds. Here in USA consumption of water per person, per day is 178 gallons - that is for bathing, flushing of toilets, watering lawns, cooking and drinking, etc. This luxury is there because they have thrice as much land as Bharath, and only one fourth of the population. If we provide the same level of affluence to Bharath, then it will need 160% of the world's resources. We must go in for sustainable consumption. This reference is in the Upanishads, which say that we must enjoy with a sense of renunciation. We do not believe in individual rights without a corresponding duty. We are part of a family and society. From nature to the Almighty we are bonded together. Society should see that each family is provided with basic amenities. And in turn, humanity should preserve nature. This can be done if we recognize that God resides in each and every particle. Our socio economic system should fulfill basically, a job for every able bodied pair of hands and water in every field. 75% of Bharath has agriculture for a mainstay. 40% of India's population is illiterate living below the poverty level. How do you propose to alleviate their suffering? They may be illiterate, but they are not unintelligent. The farmers in the villages are more conversant about the weather, the soil and the crops than the professors of the universities! We go to villages with the though tof learning something from them and we get useful feedback. We have taken literacy to slums, villages and tribal areas. We are giving great importance to one teacher schools, which we call Ekal Vidyalaya. In villages we have youth who have been educated until 8th or 10th standard, without jobs. We identify them and train them to teach, tutoring them in our past and history, arts and traditions. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Seva Bharati and Vidya Bharati are the four institutions who are entrusted this task. Hindus outside India and local people are also trying to help finance these projects. What is causing all this strife among the religions? It is the nature of the different religions. The Muslims and Christians are exclusive in their thinking. They say 'only our path is the true one, if you follow that path it will lead to heaven. All other paths lead to hell'. They are free to have their own ideas. But they also believe that God has ordained them to lead everyone to their path, therefore they're after conversion. Last year there was a Millennium Peace Summit organized by the United Nations. More than one thousand religious leaders participated and ultimately, a resolution was passed signed by all that the different religions are but faces of the same God. And that there should be no bloodshed in the name of religion. Immediately afterwards there was a 36 page document from the Vatican saying no other religion can be equal to the Roman Catholic one. Those who try to put other religions on par with Roman Catholics are crossing the limits of tolerance, it said. It also said that non - Christian religions are gravely deficient as far as salvation is concerned because they donot believe that Jesus is the only Son of God. Similarly other churches have defects because they do not believe in the supremacy of the Pope. This mentality causes friction. When they try to impose their way on us, deride our gods - immediately there will be reaction. We have a strong religion, that's why it's held up for so long. Our people may not be able to explain what their religion is, but they feel they have belief in it. And therefore only very uneducated people have been weaned away byChristianity, etc. Bharath is secular, all can practice their religions. But no conversions must take place. There is no reason for Indian Christians to reject their heritage because their ancestors were all Hindus. Even if you are Muslim from Bharath and do Haj in Mecca, you are still Hindu because you come from Hindustan. We're born from the womb of the same Mother, and some years back before conversion, you were all Hindus. You may have changed your religion, but that does not change your nationality! Accept that all paths are true leading to the same destination. In Indonesia where Ram and Krishna are considered by Muslims as ancestors, and Mahabharath and Ramayana as cultural epics. Marthoma church holds that they are Indians first and Christians next. Enlightened people from Christian and the Muslim communities accept that they belong to this country, that it is their first priority. They do not join politics with religion. But the main trouble with the Muslim society is that the enlightened section does not have leadership. The leaders are the Mullahs, and they are controlling the minds of the people. We say,English, Finnish, Germany have got their national church - they are not guided by the pope. So why should anyone control people of our country? With the election of the BJP government, the RSS has in a sense landed in the middle of the Indian political arena instead of being on the sidelines as it has been for decades. What is your analysis of the BJP government? Has it resulted in changes the RSS seeks or has the politics of government overwhelmed any higher vision that you may have? You cannot call it a BJP govt. It is a coalition govt. led by the BJP.There are three constraints - firstly, there are twenty five conglomerate parties which do not see eye to eye on all the questions. They have juststruck out a common agenda that they have to fulfill. Many of the specialists special to BJP are relegated to the background. So we do not have major expectations of them. Secondly, if they want to do something even with a majority in the lower house, in the upper house they do not have majority. So unless the opposition is taken into confidence with some questions, those issues cannot be solved. The third constraint is that the bureaucracy all these years have been wedded to the western mode of doing things, so to change the mindset of bureaucracy, it requires tremendous effort. In thepresent circumstances because of coalition politics, a sort of uncertainty is always there. So we do not expect much of them. According to our Hindu concept it is not the political power that can bring about a change in society, it is the society itself which has to do this. Political poweris only on the sidelines and is needed to protect the society from external aggression and internal disturbances. Peace and order should prevail. Weare trying to prepare society for that eventuality. We say, do your own work, think of yourself first, the govt. will come afterwards. Wherever people have participated in developmental activities we have had better results. Therefore RSS does not expect any help of the govt. - all we want is a good govt. where peace and honor prevails. As far as our work is concerned,it doesn't affect us. If we have suggestions for govt. on how to betterhandle certain issues, we convey our ideas to them. What is your stand on the Kashmir problem? The Kashmir problem has become a festering sore, only because of four mistakes committed in the initial stages. After Independence, when the Pakistanis tried to usurp Kashmir and our army began to push them out and may have succeeded, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at the insistence of Lord Mountbatten, called a ceasefire. Because of that, some of Kashmir remained with Pakistan. The second mistake was that the issue was taken to theUnited Nations, again at the insistence of Mountbatten. Nehru was very influenced by Mountbatten, and the latter himself has written that the partition was of his creation. The third was, even while Gopalaswamy Iyengar was making a strong case in favor of Bharath, Nehru announced a plebiscite, once more heeding the words of Mountbatten. In enacting Article 370 and giving special status to the state as a "temporary measure" Nehru committed the fourth error in expecting that in time, the situation would fade away. It has not faded, but it has become the main obstacle in the full integration of Kashmir with the rest of the country. After the 2001 census, the population of Kashmir has increased. It is ten lakhs more than that of Jammu. Our govt. has tried to reason with Pakistan. But Pakistan knows it's existence depends upon it's hatred of India. Of course if relations are mended Pakistan will automatically fade away. The only solution for Kashmir is when Pakistan vacates the two-fifth area it has forcibly occupied since 1948. This cannot be achieved militarily because of China's good relations with Pakistan. As far as the Pakistan problem is concerned it is between Pakistan and Hindustan. This depends on the acumen of politicians. Please comment on projects like Enron and Narmada Valley. The Enron project was opposed not only by environmentalists, but by the local population. It was known that Enron power will never be affordable. They offered it at Rs.1.84 a unit. Now it has gone up to Rs. 8.00. Swadeshi Jagran Manch were against Enron too. BJP opposed it before they came to power. After they came to power, they made certain concessions. (laughs) More often when they (politicians) go to power, they forget all promises! Just as a soul entering a body forgets it's previous birth, similarly, when a man soars into power, he forgets all his previous promises!! Now with investigation, it has been discovered that the Enron company has committed fraud. The contract has to be re-negotiated. When the debate on the confidence motion was going on, BJP followed the decision of the previous congress govt. Now it has befallen the Central govt. to pay Rs. 20 000 crores to Enron or go to court and prove that they have been fraudulent. With Narmada, there is resistance because the gestation period is very long - 20, 30 years or more. Instead we should have small check dams that would serve us better. From the begining, Madya Pradesh did not want Sardar Sarovar dam should come up to such an extent, yet Gujarat believed it would be a good way to send water to the farms. We cannot only think about that area. We have to think of the country as a whole. Ganga does not get contaminated, it has a special quality, a microbe that protects it. If we build there, theGanga may get polluted. Perhaps a tunnel could be built channeling Ganga water out of the lower end. Also wherever there are small rivers and rivulets smallcheck dams should be constructed. From 1915 til now only 200 check dams have been constructed. When we put forth this proposal to the people, 23 500 applications came and already 15 000 dams have been built. Unfortunately then there were no rains. Now there are rains. How can a Harijan say with pride that he is Hindu? First of all, Hindu denotes nationality, not religion. This is from 2500 years. Anyone from Bharat is a Hindu. Harijans are a part and parcel of Hindus. The name was given by Gandhiji, who in an attempt to remove the stigma of untouchability said that they should be called 'Harijans' as everyone worships Lord Hari. The social problems cannot be removed so easily. They can be removed by legislation and those practicing untouchability can be prosecuted by law. Outwardly we may not do anything, but inwardly it is there, that a man is untouchable for being born in a particular caste. We must remove this from the mind. After Vishwa Hindu Parishad was formed in 1964, the Guruji then met with all Hindu leaders and appealed to them that some 11 crores Harijans, and 7 crores tribals form a major section of Hindu society who have been discriminated against all these years, asking them to preach acceptance. At a conference in Udupi in 1969, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad came out in full force and declared that untouchability has no religious sanction. The saints and sages of Hindu sects are propagating equality among all men - when a Harijan called Kameshwar Chaupal laid the foundation stone for Ram Janmabhoomi in 1989 in the presense of Paramarcharyas, it was a notable sign of social progress. Today caste seems to be used for only two things - marriages and elections! Christian churches in India discriminate against Harijans and if they worship in the same place, they are given different places to sit. Or different churches for Harijans to worship exclusively. They should be given a proportion in the services in the churches and in educational institutions. These are the Harijans who were promised equal status if they converted to Christianity, but are still denied equality. Churches are working less for religion and more for politics. What do you have to say about the religious persecution of Christians? Most of the incidents that had been related did not happen at all! You'll be surprised to note that they say in Rajkot, a bible was burnt. In a convent school bibles were distributed to all the children there and they were asked to sign the last page where it was written: 'I am a sinner. I want to absolve myself of sin and therefore I want to accept the guidance of Christ.' Our Bajrang Dal people came to know of this and asked the headmaster why the bible was distributed to Hindus students and why they were required to sign it. The headmaster denied distributing it, saying a multi-national company was responsible. He apologized and gave a written statement saying such incidents shall not be repeated. But the Indian Express which was published from Ahmedabad whose resident editor was a Christian wrote that the bible was burnt! And because it was published by Indian Express, most controlled by the Christians now, it was taken up by The World. In India, who reiterated this story. We had no idea why this was happening. Then it was said in Allahabad that an American couple was threatened by the Bajrang Dal people and told that if they do not leave the country, they would face dire consequences. It was carried by the Associated Press and published worldwide. When it was published in India the couple came forward and said that they were not American but Indian, and that no one had threatened them! Such concocted stories deliberately planted! There is a conspiracy to denigrate Hindu organizations. One ghastly crime that happened was the 1999 burning of Graham Staines, the Australian missionary and his two sons. For that, VishwaHindu Parishad and RSS were roped in. Already the courts are handling this and whoever is guilty will be punished. All these things are going on. It was a consulted attempt to malign the Hindu organizations on the part of the church, funded I believe, by certain political parties. Then we realized that it was also to malign the BJP who are allegedly anti Muslim - this was to promote the idea that BJP is also anti Christian! We retaliated by circulating a booklet telling of the history of Christians and their cruelty over the years in other countries, and how they persecuted women. From 1484 to 1784, 90 million women were declared as witches and burnt. Let me not go too much into a terrible past! What is your vision for an economically-sound world? We had a flourishing society before the British came. All the markets in the world were flooded with Indian goods. In 1885, when a patriotic association in Edinburgh imposed a ban on the use of Indian clothes by women, then they used to be smuggled in. Therefore Bharath which had a bubbling economy till 18th century had to import 1/4th of their requirements from Great Britain in the 19th century, because the industries were compromised. Today we have the same dilemma. At that time the industries were de-centralized, employing less energy, consuming less capital and labor-oriented. But that was replaced by the western way which was centralized, urban-based, capital intensive, high-energy comsumptive, labor displacing and eco disturbant. Today we are feeling the pinch of that, because of the degradation of the environment. Earth has been polluted by excessive use of chemical fertilizers, non-bio-degradedable material like plastics and diapers. Rivers and air have been polluted. If we lose our ozone layer, earth will perish. Here Hindus have a responsibility, to evolve a new socio-economic-political system which is in keeping with the modern times, but at the same time, which can provide an alternative developmental model. This is what we are trying to do in our country. We have the services of eminent swadeshi scientists and we want to bring out a Swadeshi Developmental Plan or Swadeshi Jagran Manch for harmonious development and self-sufficiency of every individual, society and country. Every country has it's own resources. Each country's requirements vary, therefore we cannot have global economics. Every economy is country specific. But they can be compulsary to and complement each other. In every field our people have made their mark everywhere - as doctors, engineers, orators, and in information technology. As Hindus we have to also aspire to spiritual happiness, for no matter how much wealth is amassed, if adeeper contentment and inner harmony isn't achieved, it will all be meaningless. Some believe RSS is a militant organization with plans for an armed revolution in India. Would you care to comment on this? How can we be a militant organization? To inculcate discipline we do a drill - drills do not mean militancy. That is completely wrong! From the beginning our critics said that we took our cue from Hitler. They said Dr.Hedgewar met Hitler - Dr. Hedgewar never even left the country! RSS does not believe in armed revolution. RSS believes in the revolution of the mind! That is what we are trying to do and we are successful to some extent. It is not through revolution, because it does not give good results. What happened in Russia? A total failure! After a revolution there is counter revolution also. We believe in minding our work. What role does Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) play in RSS? Vishwa Hindu Parishad is the common platform for all the different religious organizations to join together. For the first time in 1966 during theKumbh Mela, all four Sankararcharyas came on the platform of VHP after aperiod of 1500 years. At a later time not only did the four Sankararcharyas come, but they also welcomed the Dalai Lama with Vedic mantras. What fuels you on a daily basis? What are your personal feelings about God? Swami Vivekananda had said 'for some years, you forget all other gods and goddesses and only have Bharath Mata as your goddess'. We are doing that. Everyday we tell Bharath Mata that we are here to serve her and through her, we are trying to protect dharma. We have to make this nation great, with all-round prosperity. As far as personal gods are concerned, it depends on the individual. We are Hindus, children of this soil. We impose no way of worship. We are inspired by the future of Bharath Mata. A long time ago in Andhra Pradesh during cyclonic weather, a well-known Sarvodaya leader Prabhakar Rao, amazed by the long arduous hours put in without any thought for return by RSS, said RSS stands for 'Ready for Selfless Service!'. We have to be of the mentality that these are our own people and we should help. As for prayer, yes, I do Sandhya Vandenam (Namaskaram to the Sun) daily. When I go for my morning walk, I do pray to God. In my mind, I recite the sthotras to Devi. I ask about his "ishtadevata", meaning, the god fondest to his heart, to which he laughs and unhesitatingly says "Bharath Mata!". At this point I guiltily enquire if we're running out of time, to which he replies "no,no, no! carry on!". What about your opinion on Ahimsa or non-violence? Can you elaborate on this issue? Ahimsa is a negative concept. The positive concept is himsa. If you have the capacity to do himsa and still do not take recourse to it, then it becomes ahimsa.A coward cannot follow ahimsa - Mahatma Gandhi used to say this. Because he does not have capacity to practice himsa. I've got the capacity to slap someone if he abuses me, but I can walk away thinking he is ignorant. But if I cannot have the capacity to retaliate - then why ahimsa? Ahimsa will have no meaning. Our Shastras say if someone slaps you and if you do not retaliate with ten slaps, then you are not fit to be called a man. So we must first have the capacity, the strength - after having the strength then if we do not retaliate, it is ahimsa. Ahimsa is not to be followed by weak persons. Would you condone corporal punishment in schools? Not at all! The saying 'spare the rod and spoil the child' came from the West. We want to bring out the divinity that is inherent in every child. Every child having a different temperament has to be taught accordingly. Sometimes if a parent smacks the child for being more mischievous than ever, it is out of love - and the child doesn't take it amiss. It pains the parent more to admonish the child thus. A few minutes thereafter a parent feels like embracing the child. If you love your children, they will love you. In this society where neither parents are caring for their children nor children caring for their parents, love is lost. We have to teach love. Some organizations are generally thought to be male oriented. What is the role of girls and women in RSS? When Sangh started in 1925, our society was very conservative. Young men and women intermingling was expected to cause many problems. We began work with young men. Then in 1936, Lakshmibai Kelkar met Dr. Hedgewar and suggested women do Sangh work too. He urged her to start a separate program for women based on the same principals and to evolve her own leadership. And Rashtra Sevika Samiti was born, a sister organization to RSS. How do you suggest older people, retirees as well as parents of adult children brought to this country in the twilight of their lives utilize their time and other resources effectively? It is a problem, no doubt. At least on weekends, they should try to come to the temples where there are ongoing programs. I have visited several temples and found older people quite content to spend the day there, doing religious activities. Chinmaya Mission, Gayathri Parivar are all doing great work for both young and old. At least there is some fulfillment. There is no concept of neighbourhood here. Only where there are Hindus living in a group, as in England, can people visit each other and discuss common issues. We are trying to chalk out some plans for them here also. What is your reaction regarding the acts of terrorism on America, and what is your advice to this country? (telephonic conversation to New Delhi). America should not concentrate only on the attack that has been done on America, when it says that it is fighting against terrorism. Terrorism is worldwide, and therefore America should include everybody in this fight. India has been saying for so many years that it is Pakistan who has been sponsoring terrorism in Kashmir - so Pakistan should be declared a rogue state. But America did not heed India's words. Now because America itself has experienced the heat of terrorism, they are understanding that. But Bharath has been fighting terrorism for the past two decades. Therefore America should not limit itself to Afghanistan and Osama bin Laden. If they really want to fight terrorism, they should take the cooperation of all the nations and terrorism in any nation should be fought. What has given you memorable moments, the greatest joy, from the time you took the reins of RSS in your hands March 2000? What are your plans for the future? The only thing that gives joy is that the Sangh work is spreading, going to more and more villages. When our workers in the different fields achieve something, that gives us pleasure. We have plans to continue working for Bharath and her children. “Hindu Rashtra believes in plurality of faith and justice for all” FIRING LINE: M.G. VAIDYA Is the future of communities safe in secular India?Sher Popal The future of all communities in India is and will be safe. Even before India did not formally become ‘secular’, the communities were safe. Classic example is of the minuscule Parsi community, which has been safely living in India for the past 1,400 years, and they have no feeling of fear. After his landslide victory, will Modi tackle problems like corruption, water, providing employments etc?Mukesh Patel The proof of the pudding lies in its eating. There is no reason to doubt the competence of the Modi government in tackling development and administration. In the RSS, what are the percentage of minorities? If it is the Rashtra Sevak Sangh, all the janta of our Rashtra should participate equally.S. Khan The RSS is not a party. It is an organisation of the entire Hindu society, and according to the RSS, Hindu includes all faiths and beliefs. The RSS does not maintain a caste-wise or a belief-wise record of its Swayamsewaks, and all are recognised as Hindus. Our concept of a rashtra is cultural and, therefore, it includes all castes and classes. I am one of the silent majority who favour the RSS ideology. But it pains me to see organisations like the VHP spewing venom in the society. Aren’t people like Praveen Togadia a curse on the society or RSS at large?Himanshu I think very often Shri Togadia’s statements are misquoted and twisted. The media many a time confuses between Hindu Rashtra and Hindu Rajya. They even misquoted the Deputy Prime Minister’s speech in the Lok Sabha and put into his mouth words which he did not utter. As the RSS is an apolitical organisation, why doesn’t it dedicate itself to freeing India from the curse of illiteracy and disease? No amount of religious feeling can take India on the road to better standard of living and prosperity.Pravin Sinha The RSS is a socio-cultural organisation, and, therefore, its Swayamsewaks are working in different spheres of social life under the banners of different institutions. Vidya Bharati is running more than 20,000 schools in the country, which impart education to more than 25 lakh students. Majority of these schools are located in rural areas. Then the Swayamsewaks who are working in tribal belts are running thousands of one-teacher schools (Ekala Vidyalayas), which give informal education. The Sewa Bharati of the RSS and the Service Projects of the VHP, ABVP and VKA (Vanwasi Kalyan Ashram) are also involved in social service works, which include health care, self-help groups of women, removal of superstitions, eradication of untouchability and emancipation from evils of liquor etc. We are of the opinion that even religiosity of the people is helpful in removing social evils and this path in its totality is bound to take the country ‘‘on the road to a better standard of living’’. In order to get the country to accept Hindutva as rashtrawad, you will certainly expect the Islamic culture in India to bend and come to terms with the other. But the Islamic culture is very particular about what to accept and what not to. So there is bound to be a tussle and struggle to keep the culture intact and pure. What according to you would be the straight and real solution for this? One more division?Muazzam Khan The apprehension expressed in the question is unfounded. We regard the culture of the country as one, because, according to us, culture means a certain value system — a system that is inclusive, appreciative of plurality of faiths and beliefs, democratic values and equal justice for all. This is what is connoted by the concept of Hindu Rashtra. We expect the religions of Islam and Christianity to accept the validity of all faiths and beliefs. This commitment to plurality will alone lead to integration of the people. The RSS, since its very inception, has been insisting on this inclusivist character. As mentioned above, culture is a value system, and therefore, there is ample scope for different modes of worship, rites and rituals, and there is no possibility of any struggle amongst them. All conflicts arise from exclusivist and intolerant attitudes, and from dividing the people into eternally conflicting two groups viz the Christians and heathens and Momins and Kafirs. These give rise to intolerance, hatred and Jehadi mentalities of various hues. I would like to know what views the RSS has on modernisation? I understand that they do not conform to Western views of progress.Sanjay The RSS makes a distinction between modernisation and westernisation. The crux of modernisation is a scientific point of view. It has nothing to do with scantiness of women’s dress or vulgar demonstrations of the sentiment of love. Why is that the RSS is not the first one to strongly protest events like the Jhajjar lynching in Haryana? As no Hindu organisation is quick to assuage the feelings of the Dalit community after such unfortunate events, Marxist-controlled media and the Catholic Church take advantage.A. Pandit I, as the RSS Spokesman, had condemned the Jhajjhar killings in Haryana, and demanded stringent action against the offenders. Of course, there are certain elements in our society which are interested in creating dissensions in the Hindu society, and they exploit such unfortunate incidents. STOP FUNDING HATRED RSS=MURDERERS OF GANDHI how come the RSS supporters dont want to mention that the "great and selfless sons of bharath" as they call themselves, ASSASSINATED GANDHIJI???
ANY DOUBTS ABOUT THEIR REAL NATURE? RSS=ENEMIES OF INDIA< ENEMIES OF DEMOCRACY< ENEMIES OF HUMANITY. CRUSH AND DESTROY RSS!!!!! |
