The World Economic Forum (WEF) groups together the thousand largest corporations in the world. It is an elitist organisation, dominated by the male sex, that has no democratic legitimacy. The WEF supports the influence of multinational industrial groups in the political sphere.

The representatives of the WEF claim that their efforts serve to improve the world. In reality, the elite that meets through the world has as its sole objective the increase in the profits of their consortiums, and the consolidation of the structure of neo-liberalism.

Neo-liberalism is menacing public services and endangering social security. It is pushing farmers to their ruin, and is increasing the ranks of the working poor. This neo-liberalism is responsible for the ever increasing plundering of resources, for poverty and hunger throughout the planet.

We engage ourselves for a world within which human rights are respected and in which the necessary conditions for a decent life are protected.

The self-proclaimed "Global Leaders" demonstrate, as they always have done, that they consider war as being a legitimate political tool. This year, during the WEF conference, many governmental representatives will champion militaristic politics that are more and more aggressive. We say no to the war, whether it is mandated by the UNO or not.

By our protest and our acts of civil disobedience, we wish to shatter the silence imposed by the WEF, that weighs upon the inequalities here and elsewhere in the world. We encourage all groups and individuals wich are critic to the wef's development to get together and organize a campaign to demonstrate against neo liberalisme and block the WEF meeting in New Delhi on the 23 to the 25 November 2003!

We shall not allow ourselves to be fooled into adopting military tactics. We shall express our protestation in varied ways, and in a spirit of mutual respect. We engage ourselves against any physical harm to anybody. We have confidence in the forces and the initiatives of the movement which is committed to grass roots globalisation, that searches for alternatives to a patriarchal, capitalistic economical system.

All those concerned by the struggle for a world based upon solidarity, in which poverty has no place, are invited to demonstrate in New Delhi and elsewhere against the WEF, in favour of globalisation based on justice.

The WEF has faced many critics and protests from Switzerland, Austria, Australia, New-York, Mexico and everywhere it went !

We hope the protests and actions in India will be massive and will have the impact they deserve.

Pass on the word and get organized now !
