When Arundhati Roy proposed during her plenary speech that we coordinate an international boycott and demonstrations targeting 2 US corporations that have profited from the War on Iraq, the crowd roared it's aproval. The following day, at a workshop entitled "Defeat Bush in 2004, Planning for a Global Struggle," talks centered around targeted international boycotts as a way that the international community can have a voice in the upcoming elections. In addition, a massive campaign launched by dozens of international organizations to "Boycott Bush" (www.motherearth.org) by targeting the 10 international companies who comprise his biggest donor has been widely publicized and talked about here.
