KOZHIKODE, MARCH 19 . The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) today alleged that the Left parties in the country, including the CPI(M) and CPI, were pursuing rightist policies.
Talking to reporters here, the SUCI office-bearers said the ensuing Lok Sabha elections should be seen as part of an agitation against the policies of globalisation and, hence, the forces waging the agitation should be elected.
"The `so-called' Left parties were not ready to adopt a `correct' Left stance. They had joined in the conspiracy of the ruling classes to ensure a two-party system by supporting the Congress against the BJP," they said.
The SUCI will field candidates in 56 Lok Sabha constituencies across 13 States in the country.
In Kerala, the party would join the fray in Kozhikode, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Mavelikara, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.
The SUCI central committee member, Krishna Chakravorthy, will inaugurate the campaign for its Kozhikode parliamentary constituency candidate, D. Surendranath, at the Town Hall here on March 29.
The SUCI State secretariat member, V. Venugopal, the State committee member, G.S. Padmakumar, and the district secretary, A. Sekhar, were present at the press conference.
