False alarms are being raised by some people on the damages being caused on SILENT VALLEY NATIONAL PARK!
The PATHRAKADAVU Hydro Electric Project proposed in Kerala ( PALGHAT DISTRICT )will not in any way damage the SILENT VALLEY NATIONAL PARK. The Dam proposed is around 3500 M away from the old silent valley dam proposed earlier. The Reservoir is not touching the Silent Valley forest. No roads will be opened through any National Park areas. No approaches will be available to the Park .
The water used by the Power House will be discharged to the KUNTHI PUZHA river itself. So no water shall be diverted from BHARATHAPUZHA.So the dam will not cause any drought in the River siude panchayaths.
Actually the PATHRAKADAVU dam is a very small dam when compared to the original silent valley dam. This dam stores water required to generate power for a few days only . They call it a RUN OFF THE RIVER project.
All the alarms raised in the name of SILENT VALLEY are false alarms and are motivated by ill informed peaple.
