From time to time I keep bringing in the Hindi media’s notice that they are using lots of Urdu and English words in Hindi, while proper Hindi words are available. Not only this problem with Hindi media, many Hindi media people do not use appropriate Hindi words. Most of the media people use many Urdu words like “Mubarak", in their Hindi services. I brought to the notice of the Hindi service of VOA that Mubarak word is an Urdu word. This word should be discarded from use in Hindi service and instead Hindi word should be used. Then on one occasion, the lady announcer of Hindi service of VOA used the word “Shub Kamna”. As a Hindi proverb goes, “Balihari Jaoo” on all the media people who even do not know the proper use of the Hindi word. When some body is wished for an auspicious work or “Shub Karya”, then it is said “Shub Kamna” for the auspicious work. But once the event has taken place, resulting in some sort of achievement, then the word used is “Badhai”. To comment on any such achievement, VOA used the word “Shub Kamna” which was wrong. The word used should have been “Badhai”. Hindi media people consider themselves expert in Hindi while making many mistakes, therefore these people would not accept suggestions from an ordinary person, until and unless told 100 times.
Media is spreading mental slavery
Once a lady announcer on VOA was interviewing a Muslim, who is storywriter or songwriter of Hindi films. She converted VOA Hindi program in to Urdu program. One wonders, if VOA has stayed as Hindi service then the Muslim writer of Hindi films would not have understood Hindi? Near about same time, Hindi service German radio station, a lady of Urdu service was interviewed in Hindi service. It was an act of stupidity. Then the Hindi service of German radio was also converted into Urdu service. These instances show that Hindi media people are mentally slave people and spread mental slavery in Hindus and Hindi listeners.
Hindi Media people show the blackness of mind and emptiness of Brain
Meri Saheli is a Hindi monthly published from Mumbai.(
woman@mtnl.net.in) Have a look on the front of the cover, what kind of Hindi is written in its September 2004 issue. Interior plus Vastu Special, Dhanpati Mein Badta Trade – Double Income no Sex, Bedroom ka Vastu – Aur Apka sex Jeevan, Har Mahine paye “period” se Chutkara, On the introductory page of Meri Saheli, it is always written “Volume” in Hindi and such words like Property, Tasvere, Jaroori etc.
Grah Sobha is another monthly Hindi magazine published by Delhi Press from Delhi. The publisher of Grah Sobha says that educated and sophisticated women use English words in their conversation and they like if English words are scattered in Hindi. Like Meri Saheli, Grah Sobha writes too many English words in nagri script on the cover page.
SUBHASH CHANDRA AGRAWAL (Guinness Record Holder for Most Letters to Editors) has written a letter to editor of NAVBHARTA TIMES
Perhaps Navbharat Times may be the only newspaper in the world, which is polluting the language of publication so badly. Too much use of English words (either in Roman or Devnagri script) in the newspaper perhaps in name of so-termed commonly used language has given place to even such English words in a Hindi newspaper which are not so common as compared to their equivalents in Hindi!
Same is the story with other most of the Hindi newspapers and other various kinds of publications. Most of the Hindi media people use lots of Urdu and English words in Hindi while proper Hindi words are available.
Showing the ugly face of Hindi Media
I listen to Hindi services of BBC, Voice of America, and Radio German. All these stations use lots of Urdu words in Hindi. If these stations give me in print form of their broadcasted program in Hindi for about one week, then I can point out to them, how many Urdu words are used in their Hindi services and I can also point out what proper Hindi word should be used. I can guarantee it that all the stations use more than 50 % Urdu words in Hindi. But BBC Hindi service is worst of the lot. BBC Hindi service must be using about 70% Urdu words in its Hindi service where proper Hindi words are available. BBC Hindi service make me all the more annoyed, as it has many Brahmin sounding names, who are supposed use Sanskritnist Hindi, but instead they prove their expertise of using Urdu words in Hindi. If I have got any power I would like to give death sentence to all the employees of BBC Hindi and its all correspondents, without any exception death sentence. As I have got no such power, I can only pray all kinds of employees of BBC Hindi may never take birth as human being for many, many Yugas.
What is so special about words Muddha, Tahat, Mataht etc?
All the Hindi media except with few exceptions use words like Muddha, Tahat, Mathat, Mahool, Esteefa and many thousands such words. These words are Urdu words. Simple and beautiful pure Hindi words are available for all these Urdu words. Muddha is Vishaya, Tahat is Adheen, Matahat is Antargat, Mahool is Vatatvarn, Esteefa is Tyagpata. I cannot understand what is so special about Urdu words that most of the Hindi media uses these Urdu words. Are these Hindi media people uneducated, idiots or want to spread mental slavery in Hindus for all the time to come?
All the Hindi media people use so much Urdu and English words in Hindi that they do not realize that they are destroying Hindi rather than enriching it. Ninety nine percent of Hindi media use some Urdu words in Hindi where proper Hindi words are available. I cannot understand what is so special with words like Muddha, Mathat, Estifa that 99% Hindi media like to use Urdu words in Hindi. I have written to many media people that words like Muddha, Matahat, Esteefa, Mahool are not Hindi words and must not be used in Hindi but of no avail. But no media person pays attention to know the correct Hindi word. One wonder’s what is the motive of Hindi media in destroying Hindi?
It is also very surprising that film industry, give cast of Hindi films in English rather than Hindi. These media people earn money on the name of Hindi but promote English and Urdu languages through Hindi films and Hindi TV programs. Is there any limit of stupidity or mental slavery?
It is no wonder that Hindi has slipped from third place to sixth place in world languages while position of Urdu has moved up considerably. It is all due to the traitorous nature of Hindi media people, who promote more Urdu and English languages rather than Hindi.
Quality of programs presented in Hindi services
All the Christian festivals like Mother’ Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day are based on two facts, spreading Christianity and Commercialism, These festivals have got no religious importance. Valentine’s Day is a vulgar festival, which many Christians themselves say. On one Mother’s Day, one lady announcer said that her children took her to dinner and she has got good time. She gave the details of having her good time with her children.
I would like to ask the lady announcer and the producer of Hindi program, is it the right way to present the program to Hindus, for whom every day of the year is mother’s Day, Father’s Day.
The right way is broadcast some songs, which depict the importance of mothers in Hindi or go to some saints or ashrams and ask them what is the Hindu way of celebrating Mother’s Day. Another way is ask the general public, how they celebrated Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. Some people quit their lucrative jobs to look after their old parents. Go and interview such people.
Every year thousands of old women are deserted by their children at religious places to die or beg. Go and interview such old ladies and ask them what they did wrong in bringing their children. Go and interview those people and organizations who, look after these deserted women. On Mother’s Day or Father’s Day give suggestions and advise to your listeners to look after their old parents so these people may be looked after in their old by their own children This would be the right way of presenting Mother’s Day or Father’s Day to Hindus.
Hindi media people are providing snake oil to their listeners, which are just like free drug to Hindi listeners, but the real purpose is to destroy Hindi language and Hindu culture.
