IS BEING HINDU A CRIME IN INDIA ?

Is it a sin to belong to a majority community in a secular country ?Perhaps, it is. Be it any issue,in India, communities with certain tags are being made to suffer in the name of morality or 'justice'.

Otherwise, why the Hindu community with more numbers than others is asked to bow down every time? Why such a forced magnanimity is expected every time from one specific community? Isn't it naive of politicians to forget certain developments like that does have a provoking impact on even the most neutral mindsets.

Who doesn't know India is secular country, where all religions garner equal respect from all. But such a secular colour of the nation gets affected when one community is favoured just because of its tag of minority. Undoubtedly, in a secular country all parties and communities should be treated equally. But when it comes to offering reservation in any sector or granting any relaxation or doing any favor, the people of majority community suffer. Why?

Whenever there is a clash of opinions, the beliefs or demands of Hindu community are usually compromised. In India, unfortunately, for increasing the vote-bank the politicial parties always heat up any issue and provoke hard to win support.

Similar an incident took place when Jagadguru Jayanendra Sarswati, Shankaracharya of Kam Kothi Peeth, was arrested on mere allegations. The pontiff represents Hindu community and was associated with the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid issue. The haphazard method to arrest the most respected leader of Hindu community did make a dent on Hindu community's religious beliefs.

It was shocking to read the reasons sighted for his arrest. As there are many political and religious leaders with non-bailable arrest warrants who roam around carefree. Among others are even the names of religious leaders belonging to Muslim community, Sayed Imam Bukhari of famous Jama Masjid in Delhi. Unfortunately, the same promptness was never initiated in his case. Probably, none of the ruling parties wish to sour its relations with the minority community(worth more than 20 crores people).

It looks as the government is turning biased to one specific community. If neutrality can be expected during or after any heinous carnage, why not with top religious leaders. Somehow the erroneous impression is as if privileges are being consistently shunned only when the pontiff is from the Hindu community. Otherwise, there are many religious and political leaders who should have been behind bars much before the recent arrest of Shankarcharya.

Also the recent arrest of Hindu religious leader, Jayendra Saraswati only reconfirmed the ugly face of politics. It felt shocking to see certain over-smart political leaders relishing this action. Today it is being seen as a provocation of communal disturbance and an effort to tarnish the image and sanctity of Hindu community.

It's true nobody is above law, how many of our leaders sitting in parliament and state assemblies fit this rule. If not then why the most prominent seer on earth for Hindus has been subjected such haphazard legal arrest? If tomorrow any arrested individual makes similar allegations on prime minister or president, will he be arrested accordingly? The countrymen demand explanation.
