Caste hierarchy is a reality in India. Brahmins (read brahmin men)are considered to be closer to the God and superior to others.
The arrest of the demi-God Kanchi seer, has rattled the upper caste people (read upper caste men).
No body should go near to Kanchi seer according to the "Hindu tradion"; forget about touching him.
His fanatic followers drink the water that had washed his feet.
No body should sit in front of him.
All the top political leaders visit him to show their loyality to the Kanchi mat.
Presidents, Prime ministers, Governers, Ministers all of them.
He is the symbol of caste hierarchy.
He symbolosises the caste superiority and oppression.
His arrest (ironically by another brahmin lady, the chief minister of Tamilnadu) is a symbolical victory to the dravidian politics.
No body is above the law. Even the demi-gods!
Annexe:
The people of this country have not reacted to this arrest fanatically; although fanatic groups are trying their best to create some kind of an unrest.
Ironically a dalit (oppressed caste) man, has killed himself to protest the arrest. He is dalit because of te caste system. And Kanchi seer is symbolises the caste system. This is the victory of caste system, which proves the democratic and secular forces have to be more vigilant and more active in fighting the injustice.
