(An association of NGO’s and residents of Mahipalpur, Munirka, V. Kunj and V.Vihar)

This area has a complete conservation status as such

i)Ridge, by the Geological Survey of India (1997 ): Protected by the Master Plan
ii)Forest, by the Forest Department ( Delhi Government 1997-2003 ): No non forest activity permitted.
iii)A water catchment area, by The Central Groundwater Board.( 1997): No construction or water withdrawal permitted

Yet the DDA is building of the Vasant Kunj Mall on this ridge which is completely illegal and is destroying the water catchment . And so is the Army construction of a housing colony and offices that continues to destroy this ridge. We demand a complete halt to this destruction of our precious environment
