Apropos to our opinion article “ Left MP Castigates Partisan Coverage of Reliance Feud by News Agency”, it has been brought to our notice this morning that Mr. Abani Roy, Member of Parliament who has initiated the charge on Press Trust of India has consequently withdrawn and therefore our opinion article published on our website stands without relevance. We therefore request our readers not to take any cognisance on the content of our opinion article. Mr. Abani Roy’s letter dated 22.05.2005, which we receive this morning is published below:-

Dear Shri Reddy Ji,

This is in continuation of my letter dated April 24, 2005 making therein some aspersions on the working of Press Trust of India (PTI). Consequently, some prominent media persons met me and apprised me of the actual position with regard to points raised in my above letter. I am now convinced that there is no feud put forward to me earlier regarding these aspersions and therefore I would request you not to take any cognisance on the content of my letter under reference.

I regret for the inconvenience caused in this regard.
