One thing that I find quite annoying is these Muslim journalists who constantly write articles in newspapers explaining to the world how their religion is highly misunderstood in this world- that Islam is actually an extremely peace loving and progressive religion. The large number of terrorists and crazy fundamentalists that it produces annually are not Muslims at all but hijackers of the religion. Islam preaches that people of all religions should be treated equally. No matter that, almost Islamic countries have decidedly different rules for Muslims and Non-muslims. Whats important is that in Non-islamic countries they must get complete equality, otherwise you will be on the hit list of the crazies.

These progressive journalists also keep harping on the fact that Islam is extremely generous to its women. Reading these articles one would think that Muslim women are some of the luckiest in the world. That no religion treats women with as much respect as Islam. Again, according to them, muslim communities and countries that don’t give women equality are not following the true diktats of Islam. Well, I guess that this includes almost all of them then. In our own country, when women like Imrana are forced to treat their husband like their son after being sexually assaulted by the father-in –law and when crazy clerics issue strange orders on how muslim women should be kept in their place ( not allowed to watch television etc.) these progressive muslim journalists become strangely quiet.

While the entire world is moving in one direction, Islam is hell bent on moving in exactly the opposite direction. But you cannot open your mouth and say anything against them for fear of being labelled a Muslim-basher. Everybody has to pussyfoot around them for fear of hurting sensitive muslim sensibilities. Half the violence in this world is thanks to Islam. Still they have the audacity to write articles full of reverence, praise and lies about this decaying and troublemaking institution.
