The United Kingdom
An Open letter to British Prime Minister -Mr. Tony Blair (Exclusively through the Mirror)
Sir,
I am one of those who feel sorry for the suffering that UK citizens are undergoing after the blast. It’s not a time to take dastardly steps and go on a war-footing to fight the terrorism, but to retrospect.
Your statement that the attack was aimed at your way of life is not only misleading but will incite people. Bush too had made a comment last year that Osama and the like are against freedom, only to be rebuked by Osama that if such was the case, then a liberal and free country like Sweden would also be attacked!
In a shared opinion with thousands of others worldwide, the attacks have taken place not because of the way you (British) live but because the way you, Mr. Blair, have acted by siding with the biggest terrorist, G. Bush and his terrorist organisation the CIA to maintain your special relations with them.
World over, the United States is being sidelined and has always remained the most unwanted ally of any country for “democratize or I shoot you” bunkum. It has never raised objection to military juntas like Burma (Myanmar) because of the drug money it receives from them, but has fought countries that refuse to lick its boots.
Sadly, the Indian government is also doing that when it recently entered into a special defense agreement with the US. This war and weapons madness is a vicious cycle and will not lead us anywhere. It will culminate into more and more tension and terror worldwide.
Your siding with the US to maintain special relations with it, has invited special wrath and resentment of people worldwide. While losing international support in the course of war, you also personally suffered locally by getting less votes in recent elections, besides mainly passing on the damage to the innocent public by way of using their tax money and inviting bomb blasts. The recent bomb blasts, a backslash of your so-called war on terror could have also had highly damaging consequences on your London economy that thrives so much on tourism. Let’s say, just in case London Bridge or Madam Tussauds museum was bombed like in WW II, where would be your tourism and the money flowing in London come?
I consider myself to be a citizen of the world and firmly believe in the famous quote of Thomas Paine “The World is my country. It’s people are my brethren” but have to add to it “except the USA because of its schizophrenic President, his American electors and their policies”. Should I also add “Tony Blair and his electors for sharing a special split personality with G. Bush and US?”.
Don’t react, introspect.
