The beauty of the proposed Howard’s Industrial Relations Terrorism has been exposed in the taxi industry.

1. In the taxi industry drivers union is like “pork chop in Israel” for a number of reasons and ‘conspiracies’. As a result, bailee taxi drivers (workers) could be booked and were booked for not wearing uniform. However, not ONE taxi owner (Boss) was booked for not supplying the uniform! This happened despite the fact that the boss has to supply uniform in the first place.

2. According to the law, a taxi driver must be indemnified for all insurance claims. Else, a taxi could not be registered. Yet, far too many taxi drivers were chased by the debt collectors and other thugs for an accident they even can not remember or may have forgotten about. All of those cases, the drivers have done the right thing, eg. filled up the appropriate insurance claims and other paper works. However, due to the loophole created by John Howard’s union busting conspiracy earlier, the taxi bosses can walk away from the business or create a new company while sink the previous company at the bottom of the harbour! In such cases, many earned rights of the workers and other entities rest at the bottom of the harbour with loophole mentioned above.

Due to the "Industrial Relations Terrorism" below the workers are
bleeding badly, passengers are taken for a ride and a small number
of `Taxi Mafias" are laughing all the way to bank. So, what is the
net impact?

The net impacts are:
1. Taxi drivers work more than 72 hours a week. Yet can not make
enough money and therefore can afford to pay tax.
2. Many drivers have to depend on diminishing social support
system to supply bread and butter for their family.
3. Thus in a way, the taxpayers are subsidizing about two
billion dollar per year for the unlawful profit and greed of the Taxi
Mafia.

If we allow John "Sharon" Howard's proposed Industrial Relations
Reform, we will end up with more than 30% working poor in our society
and thereby tragic social, economic and political consequences.
So, we must be careful and we can't afford to be complaisant.

John Howard's Industrial Relations Reform

We are hearing a lots of spins from the predictable groups that the
Maritime Union busting and conspiracy graduate John Howard's
proposed Industrial Relations reform means, "Bosses are waiting with
bagful of money to give a way to workers; but the bloody union
leaders are standing in between because they don't want to loose
their powers". Well, we have heard them all before during the
affairs of MV Tampa, Children Over Board, No More GST, WMD, Saddam's
Human Shredding Machine and connection with Bin Laden etc. Surely,
this won't be the last. So, what is the reality?

Since 1930 NOT one taxi driver was reinstated for Unfair Dismissal
and as a result the taxi industry is going down the hell. Should a
driver asks for holiday pay, sick pay or complains about the unsafe
condition of the taxi; he or she gets the boot without any
recourse whatsoever. According to the law, taxi drivers are entitled
to get holiday and sick pay. However, the good bosses pay them
nothing. Yet, they falsely claim to the taxman and receive TAX
DEDUCTION for the entitlement they never paid in the first place.
They blatantly ignore Industrial relations Act, Occupational Health
and Safety Acts and many other acts.

Two taxi industry "Mafia" John Bowe and Howard Harrison admitted all
of these under oath in the IRC matter no 4181 of 2003.You may find
