Now in India, the time has come to form a media commission just like Election commission. Election commission is a constitutional body and not bound to follow government's orders. As the Election commission is an autonomous body, the media commission must be an autonomous body and not to controlled by government in any mean.
In a significant event, minister for information and broadcasting, Mr. Reddy ask media to draw a limitations. Senior journalist kuldeep nayyar and M.J Akbar also accept that media must draw a limitation for there works and a media commission should be formed.
Regarding to the subject, proposal to form a media commission is very practical. We saw that both print and electronic media are crossing their limit on the name of Freedom of media. Government cannot check media actives but there must be a constitutional body witch can check media activities. Even press council of India is failing to check objectionable media activies.
Media has a vital role in society and it impacts social system in every mean. This is very unfortunate that in present, the media person forgets all media ethics, morels and code of media conduct.
A media commission must be formed and in this commission, government must not have any role. Senior journalist should be members of media commission and they should have right to check activities of any media group or a journalist. As journalist will run this commission so freedom of media will not be violent in any mean but objectionable media activities could be stopped.
